# Brilliance Smart vs SPJ Smart Lighting

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SPJ Smart Lighting at 100% against Brilliance Smart's 43%. Brilliance Smart's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 3.7) and ratings volume (3.2K vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Brilliance Smart holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brilliance Smart has 3.2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Brilliance Smart's written reviews are positive against 100% of SPJ Smart Lighting's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Brilliance Smart ships an update every 3 months, SPJ Smart Lighting every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
