# SHIFTAR vs Shift Calendar Planner

The clearest difference is ads: Shift Calendar Planner at none against SHIFTAR's shown. SHIFTAR's advantage is ratings volume (572 vs 27) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SHIFTAR sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Shift Calendar Planner sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SHIFTAR holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SHIFTAR has 572 ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of SHIFTAR's written reviews are positive against 81% of Shift Calendar Planner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SHIFTAR ships an update monthly, Shift Calendar Planner every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
