# SHIFTAR vs SubRenew

The clearest difference is ads: SubRenew at none against SHIFTAR's shown. SHIFTAR's advantage is update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SHIFTAR sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and SubRenew sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SHIFTAR ships an update every 5 weeks, SubRenew every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
