# Spod VPN & Web Filter vs Project

The clearest difference is rating: Spod VPN & Web Filter at 4.7 against Project's 4.0. Project's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and review sentiment (83% vs 67%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spod VPN & Web Filter sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Project sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Spod VPN & Web Filter holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 8 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Spod VPN & Web Filter's written reviews are positive against 83% of Project's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Spod VPN & Web Filter ships an update every 6 weeks, Project every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
