# Go Slice vs Picnic Penguin

The clearest difference is update cadence: Go Slice at weekly against Picnic Penguin's every 5 months. Go Slice also leads on ratings volume (5K vs 34) and rating (4.6 vs 4.4). Picnic Penguin's advantage is review sentiment (74% vs 56%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Go Slice sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Picnic Penguin sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Go Slice holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Go Slice has 5K ratings behind it against 34, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Go Slice's written reviews are positive against 74% of Picnic Penguin's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Go Slice ships an update weekly, Picnic Penguin every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
