# Chess Tempo vs Chessity

The clearest difference is rating: Chess Tempo at 4.0 against Chessity's 3.0. Chess Tempo also leads on ratings volume (113 vs 2). Chessity's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chess Tempo sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Chessity sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chess Tempo holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chess Tempo has 113 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Chess Tempo ships an update every 2 months, Chessity fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
