# YPT vs Study Timer & Time Tracker

The clearest difference is rating: YPT at 4.7 against Study Timer & Time Tracker's 4.2. YPT also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.7K vs 27). Study Timer & Time Tracker's advantage is review sentiment (85% vs 56%) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. YPT sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Study Timer & Time Tracker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

YPT holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: YPT has 1.7K ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of YPT's written reviews are positive against 85% of Study Timer & Time Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

YPT ships an update every 2 days, Study Timer & Time Tracker every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
