# Alto vs Glimpse

The clearest difference is ads: Alto at none against Glimpse's shown. Alto also leads on ratings volume (4.4K vs 1). Glimpse's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Glimpse holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Alto has 4.4K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Alto ships an update every 3 weeks, Glimpse monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
