# Split screen Player vs Split Screen

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Split screen Player at 64% against Split Screen's 17%. Split screen Player also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). Split Screen's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.1 vs 3.7). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Split screen Player sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Split Screen sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Split Screen holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 50 and 84 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Split screen Player's written reviews are positive against 17% of Split Screen's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Split screen Player ships an update fortnightly, Split Screen every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on September 30, 2026.
