# FoodMaxx vs Simple Cafe

The clearest difference is monetization model: Simple Cafe at free against FoodMaxx's free with in-app purchases. Simple Cafe also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks). FoodMaxx's advantage is ratings volume (5.7K vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Simple Cafe holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FoodMaxx has 5.7K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

FoodMaxx ships an update every 6 weeks, Simple Cafe every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
