# Boom Pilot vs UFO99

The clearest difference is ads: Boom Pilot at none against UFO99's shown. Boom Pilot also leads on rating (4.5 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (1.4K vs 41). UFO99's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (69% vs 44%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Boom Pilot sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and UFO99 sells 12 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Boom Pilot holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Boom Pilot has 1.4K ratings behind it against 41, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of Boom Pilot's written reviews are positive against 69% of UFO99's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Boom Pilot ships an update every 2 months, UFO99 every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
