# Secure X vs App Lock™

Secure X and App Lock™ both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 77% of Secure X's written reviews are positive against 19% of App Lock™'s. Secure X also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). App Lock™'s advantage is ratings volume (2.6K vs 189). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secure X sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and App Lock™ sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Secure X against 4.5 for App Lock™. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: App Lock™ has 2.6K ratings behind it against 189, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 77% of Secure X's written reviews are positive against 19% of App Lock™'s.

Secure X ships an update monthly, App Lock™ every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
