# CAT Scale Locator vs CE

The clearest difference is review sentiment: CE at 100% against CAT Scale Locator's 6%. CE also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months). CAT Scale Locator's advantage is rating (4.2 vs 3.8) and ratings volume (14 vs 4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CAT Scale Locator holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 14 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 6% of CAT Scale Locator's written reviews are positive against 100% of CE's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CAT Scale Locator ships an update every 4 months, CE every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
