# Bellfish vs IMAX

The clearest difference is rating: Bellfish at 3.7 against IMAX's 2.3. Bellfish also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 19) and ads (none vs shown). IMAX's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (32 vs 3). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IMAX sells 19 one-off in-app purchases. Bellfish asks for nothing beyond the download.

Bellfish holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IMAX has 32 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Bellfish ships an update every 3 months, IMAX monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
