# Goodnotes vs BreadCrumb

The clearest difference is update cadence: Goodnotes at weekly against BreadCrumb's every 2 months. Goodnotes also leads on ratings volume (465K vs 1) and chart position (#103 vs unranked). BreadCrumb's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Goodnotes sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and BreadCrumb sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BreadCrumb holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Goodnotes has 465K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Goodnotes ships an update weekly, BreadCrumb every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
