# Goodnotes vs Daily Planner

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Daily Planner at none against Goodnotes's 20. Daily Planner also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.6). Goodnotes's advantage is ratings volume (466K vs 1) and chart position (#96 vs unranked). On price, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Goodnotes sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Daily Planner asks for nothing beyond the download.

Daily Planner holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Goodnotes has 466K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
