# Ground School vs AviateIQ

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Ground School at 1.8K against AviateIQ's 8. Ground School also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ground School sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $49.99 per month and AviateIQ sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $14.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ground School holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ground School has 1.8K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 88% of Ground School's written reviews are positive against 86% of AviateIQ's.

Ground School ships an update every 2 weeks, AviateIQ every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
