# Modern Flames vs C&JsmartFIRE

The clearest difference is rating: Modern Flames at 4.3 against C&JsmartFIRE's 1.2. Modern Flames also leads on ratings volume (98 vs 5). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Modern Flames holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 1.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Modern Flames has 98 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Modern Flames's written reviews are positive against 25% of C&JsmartFIRE's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Modern Flames ships an update every 12 months, C&JsmartFIRE every 23 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
