# Rubio's vs FoodyDex

The clearest difference is ads: Rubio's at none against FoodyDex's shown. Rubio's also leads on ratings volume (18K vs 2) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). FoodyDex's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

FoodyDex holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rubio's has 18K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Rubio's ships an update every 3 weeks, FoodyDex every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
