# PingMe vs Text ▹

The clearest difference is rating: Text ▹ at 4.4 against PingMe's 3.7. Text ▹ also leads on ratings volume (3.8K vs 1.1K). PingMe's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PingMe sells 11 one-off in-app purchases and Text ▹ sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Text ▹ holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.1K and 3.8K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of PingMe's written reviews are positive against 26% of Text ▹'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PingMe ships an update every 2 months, Text ▹ every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
