# Precision Performance Inst. vs Specialized

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Precision Performance Inst. at 100% against Specialized's 50%. Precision Performance Inst. also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Specialized's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 12 months) and ratings volume (12K vs 4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Precision Performance Inst. holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Specialized has 12K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Precision Performance Inst.'s written reviews are positive against 50% of Specialized's.

Precision Performance Inst. ships an update every 12 months, Specialized fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
