# Markdown Notes vs Metion

The clearest difference is rating: Metion at 4.3 against Markdown Notes's 1.0. Metion also leads on ratings volume (46 vs 1). Markdown Notes's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 14.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Markdown Notes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Metion sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Metion holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Metion has 46 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Markdown Notes's written reviews are positive against 60% of Metion's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
