# LOCKE vs GoodRec

The clearest difference is rating: GoodRec at 4.9 against LOCKE's 4.4. GoodRec also leads on ratings volume (14K vs 11). LOCKE's advantage is monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GoodRec holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GoodRec has 14K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two.

LOCKE ships an update every 2 weeks, GoodRec fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
