# EG WaveSHAPER vs Drumline Designer

The clearest difference is price: EG WaveSHAPER at $8.99 against Drumline Designer's $19.99. EG WaveSHAPER also leads on rating (4.8 vs 3.5) and ratings volume (23 vs 4). Drumline Designer's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 85%) and update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

EG WaveSHAPER costs $8.99 and Drumline Designer $19.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

EG WaveSHAPER holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EG WaveSHAPER has 23 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of EG WaveSHAPER's written reviews are positive against 100% of Drumline Designer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EG WaveSHAPER ships an update fortnightly, Drumline Designer every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
