# Mathpix Snip vs CERN Campus

The clearest difference is rating: CERN Campus at 5.0 against Mathpix Snip's 4.5. Mathpix Snip's advantage is review sentiment (76% vs 50%) and ratings volume (141 vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CERN Campus holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mathpix Snip has 141 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of Mathpix Snip's written reviews are positive against 50% of CERN Campus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mathpix Snip ships an update every 5 weeks, CERN Campus every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
