# remoteID vs Merchonii

The clearest difference is rating: Merchonii at 5.0 against remoteID's 2.1. Merchonii also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 15 months). remoteID's advantage is ratings volume (7 vs 1) and iOS requirement (10.3 vs 13.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Merchonii holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: remoteID has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 5% of remoteID's written reviews are positive against 0% of Merchonii's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

remoteID ships an update every 15 months, Merchonii every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
