# Cloud Tunes vs Blink

The clearest difference is monetization model: Blink at free with in-app purchases against Cloud Tunes's subscription. Blink also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (18K vs 142). Cloud Tunes's advantage is review sentiment (84% vs 55%) and iOS requirement (9.1 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cloud Tunes sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Blink sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Blink holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Blink has 18K ratings behind it against 142, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Cloud Tunes's written reviews are positive against 55% of Blink's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cloud Tunes ships an update fortnightly, Blink every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
