# Nano Notes vs FormatX

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Nano Notes at none against FormatX's 3. Nano Notes also leads on ratings volume (150 vs 10) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). FormatX's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 3 months). On price, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FormatX sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.29 per 7 days. Nano Notes asks for nothing beyond the download.
