# Snug as a Bub vs Period

The clearest difference is price: Period at Free against Snug as a Bub's $3.99. Period also leads on rating (4.9 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (2.8K vs 1). Snug as a Bub's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 54%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 13.0). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Period is free to download; Snug as a Bub costs $3.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Period holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Period has 2.8K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Snug as a Bub's written reviews are positive against 54% of Period's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
