# Globa Japanese vs Nihongo Lessons

The clearest difference is rating: Nihongo Lessons at 4.8 against Globa Japanese's 2.0. Nihongo Lessons also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (129 vs 1). Globa Japanese's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Globa Japanese sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Nihongo Lessons sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Nihongo Lessons holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nihongo Lessons has 129 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Globa Japanese ships an update every 2 days, Nihongo Lessons every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
