# SmartLinx Go vs Webence Chat

The clearest difference is rating: Webence Chat at 4.0 against SmartLinx Go's 2.8. SmartLinx Go's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 17 months) and ratings volume (558 vs 5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Webence Chat holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmartLinx Go has 558 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 14% of SmartLinx Go's written reviews are positive against 0% of Webence Chat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SmartLinx Go ships an update fortnightly, Webence Chat every 17 months. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
