# Screen Recorder vs ScreenshotApp

The clearest difference is rating: Screen Recorder at 4.4 against ScreenshotApp's 2.8. Screen Recorder also leads on ratings volume (3.1K vs 12) and review sentiment (33% vs 20%). ScreenshotApp's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen Recorder sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days and ScreenshotApp sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Screen Recorder holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Screen Recorder has 3.1K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 33% of Screen Recorder's written reviews are positive against 20% of ScreenshotApp's.

Screen Recorder ships an update every 3 weeks, ScreenshotApp monthly. Both last shipped on September 30, 2026.
