# Screen Recorder vs Record In

The clearest difference is monetization model: Record In at freemium against Screen Recorder's subscription. Screen Recorder's advantage is ratings volume (3.1K vs 344) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 15.6). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen Recorder sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days and Record In sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Screen Recorder against 4.4 for Record In. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Screen Recorder has 3.1K ratings behind it against 344, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 33% of Screen Recorder's written reviews are positive against 36% of Record In's.

Screen Recorder ships an update every 3 weeks, Record In every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
