# Screen Recorder vs DeviceShot

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: DeviceShot at none against Screen Recorder's 6. DeviceShot also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (50% vs 33%). Screen Recorder's advantage is ratings volume (3.1K vs 21) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, rating and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen Recorder sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days. DeviceShot asks for nothing beyond the download.

Screen Recorder holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Screen Recorder has 3.1K ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Screen Recorder's written reviews are positive against 50% of DeviceShot's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
