# Screen Recorder vs NexSnap

The clearest difference is monetization model: NexSnap at free with in-app purchases against Screen Recorder's subscription. NexSnap also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Screen Recorder's advantage is ratings volume (3.1K vs 88) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 16.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen Recorder sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days and NexSnap sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Screen Recorder holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Screen Recorder has 3.1K ratings behind it against 88, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 33% and 33% positive.

Screen Recorder ships an update every 3 weeks, NexSnap weekly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
