# Shadow PC vs FreeMcServer

The clearest difference is rating: FreeMcServer at 4.4 against Shadow PC's 3.7. Shadow PC's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (45% vs 20%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

FreeMcServer holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shadow PC has 1.9K ratings behind it against 80, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of Shadow PC's written reviews are positive against 20% of FreeMcServer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Shadow PC ships an update every 6 weeks, FreeMcServer monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
