# VPN Clean vs Secure VPN Proxy

The clearest difference is monetization model: VPN Clean at free with in-app purchases against Secure VPN Proxy's subscription. VPN Clean also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (37K vs 4.6K). Secure VPN Proxy's advantage is review sentiment (85% vs 70%). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN Clean sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Secure VPN Proxy sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for VPN Clean against 4.6 for Secure VPN Proxy. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN Clean has 37K ratings behind it against 4.6K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 70% of VPN Clean's written reviews are positive against 85% of Secure VPN Proxy's.

VPN Clean ships an update every 3 weeks, Secure VPN Proxy monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
