# XL Random vs Super Random Generator

The clearest difference is ads: Super Random Generator at none against XL Random's shown. Super Random Generator also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. XL Random sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Super Random Generator sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

XL Random holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 6 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of XL Random's written reviews are positive against 100% of Super Random Generator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

XL Random ships an update every 4 months, Super Random Generator fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
