# Commune vs Humanity Stream

The clearest difference is monetization model: Humanity Stream at free with in-app purchases against Commune's subscription. Commune's advantage is ratings volume (375 vs 21). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Commune sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Humanity Stream sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $39.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Commune against 4.5 for Humanity Stream. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Commune has 375 ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 71% of Commune's written reviews are positive against 77% of Humanity Stream's.

Commune ships an update every 2 months, Humanity Stream every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
