# Paintshot vs Sloppy Fish

The clearest difference is ads: Sloppy Fish at none against Paintshot's shown. Paintshot's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.5) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Paintshot sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Sloppy Fish sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Paintshot holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Paintshot has 16 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Paintshot ships an update weekly, Sloppy Fish fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
