# BSB Generator vs RPG Notebook

The clearest difference is review sentiment: RPG Notebook at 69% against BSB Generator's 20%. RPG Notebook also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.6). BSB Generator's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.2 vs 4.0). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BSB Generator sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and RPG Notebook sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BSB Generator holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 65 and 48 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of BSB Generator's written reviews are positive against 69% of RPG Notebook's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BSB Generator ships an update every 5 months, RPG Notebook monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
