# CDL Prep Practice Test Genie vs CDL PermitPro

The clearest difference is monetization model: CDL PermitPro at free against CDL Prep Practice Test Genie's free with in-app purchases. CDL PermitPro also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and review sentiment (100% vs 86%). CDL Prep Practice Test Genie's advantage is ratings volume (15K vs 7). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CDL Prep Practice Test Genie sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per 7 days and CDL PermitPro sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CDL PermitPro holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CDL Prep Practice Test Genie has 15K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 86% of CDL Prep Practice Test Genie's written reviews are positive against 100% of CDL PermitPro's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
