# Mouse Racer vs IMAX

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Mouse Racer at none against IMAX's 19. Mouse Racer also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 14.0). IMAX's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IMAX sells 19 one-off in-app purchases. Mouse Racer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Mouse Racer holds the better App Store score, 2.4 against 2.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 16 and 34 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Mouse Racer's written reviews are positive against 35% of IMAX's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mouse Racer ships an update every 2 months, IMAX monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
