# Terra 3D vs ModelPlay

The clearest difference is rating: Terra 3D at 3.7 against ModelPlay's 3.0. Terra 3D also leads on ratings volume (45 vs 8) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). ModelPlay's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 22 months) and monetization model (free vs freemium). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Terra 3D sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per 7 days and ModelPlay sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Terra 3D holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Terra 3D has 45 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Terra 3D's written reviews are positive against 27% of ModelPlay's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Terra 3D ships an update every 22 months, ModelPlay every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
