# CDL Study vs CDL Exam Prep

CDL Study and CDL Exam Prep both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of CDL Exam Prep's written reviews are positive against 55% of CDL Study's. CDL Exam Prep also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 4 months). CDL Study's advantage is ratings volume (2.2K vs 5) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CDL Study sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and CDL Exam Prep sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for CDL Study against 4.8 for CDL Exam Prep. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CDL Study has 2.2K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 55% of CDL Study's written reviews are positive against 100% of CDL Exam Prep's.

CDL Study ships an update every 4 months, CDL Exam Prep every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
