# eM Life vs Equa

The clearest difference is monetization model: eM Life at free with in-app purchases against Equa's subscription. eM Life also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). Equa's advantage is review sentiment (69% vs 37%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. eM Life sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Equa sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Equa holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 328 and 240 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 37% of eM Life's written reviews are positive against 69% of Equa's.

eM Life ships an update every 6 weeks, Equa weekly. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
