# Running training vs NextGoal Running

The clearest difference is update cadence: Running training at every 2 weeks against NextGoal Running's every 5 weeks. NextGoal Running's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Running training sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and NextGoal Running sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Running training ships an update every 2 weeks, NextGoal Running every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
