# Backgammon Blitz vs Backgammon

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Backgammon at none against Backgammon Blitz's 10. Backgammon also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Backgammon Blitz's advantage is ratings volume (399 vs 6) and review sentiment (90% vs 70%). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backgammon Blitz sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Backgammon asks for nothing beyond the download.

Backgammon holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backgammon Blitz has 399 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 90% of Backgammon Blitz's written reviews are positive against 70% of Backgammon's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Backgammon Blitz ships an update every 3 months, Backgammon every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
