# VUEWorks vs Axon

The clearest difference is monetization model: VUEWorks at free against Axon's subscription. VUEWorks also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Axon's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.4) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Axon holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Axon has 1.3K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two.

VUEWorks ships an update every 4 months, Axon every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
