# Legend Companion vs MapGenie

Legend Companion and MapGenie both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 95% of Legend Companion's written reviews are positive against 56% of MapGenie's. Legend Companion also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 26 months). MapGenie's advantage is ratings volume (2.6K vs 178). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Legend Companion sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and MapGenie sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Legend Companion against 4.8 for MapGenie. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MapGenie has 2.6K ratings behind it against 178, so its average is the more settled of the two.
